As of January 1, 2012 the Recorder's fee for recording documents will be decreased by $4.00.

Navajo County Recorder

Laurette Justman was appointed as County Recorder August 1, 1999 by the Board of Supervisors and was elected As County Recorder in 2000. She has been with the Navajo County Recorder’s office since 1984. She is a past Recorder’s Association President and is a member of the Arizona Association of Counties as well as the Recorders Association. Laurie is certified in Elections with the Arizona Secretary of State as well as at the National Level with the Elections Center. She is a member of the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Elections Officials and Treasurers. In addition, she has served as a member of the Navajo County Personnel Commission. She has received a certificate as a Certified Public Manager from ASU. She continues her education in the election process, as well as leadership and management. She is a long time resident of Navajo County. Laurie and her husband Richard have three children.

The Recorder’s Office is comprised of the recording division which includes voter registration, voter outreach and early voting. Responsibilities in the Recorder’s Office include recording and maintaining, for permanent public record all documents presented for recording, including electronic recordings. All documents are handled in a timely manner and are easily accessible to the public.

Voter information is disseminated through our voter outreach program. The Recorder, as Registrar of voters, is responsible for maintaining voter records and conducting early voting with accuracy and consistency in accordance with Federal and State requirements.

The Elections Department was placed under the supervision of the Recorder's Office in 2011 as directed by the Board of Supervisors

Our office works diligently to accomplish all duties in an atmosphere filled with courtesy, consideration and respect.
