Biography
James (Jimmy) Jayne has served as the County Manager since September of
2003. Previously he served as Executive Secretary for the Arizona
Corporation Commission and Chief of Staff for the AZ House of
Representatives. Jayne also served on staff for two members of Congress
and the Arizona Water Banking Authority. Jayne received his undergraduate
degree from NAU, his MPA and Certified Public Manager Certification
from ASU, Management Program for Leaders in Public Service from Penn State,
Certificate in Public Policy and Management from UofA and the Senior
Executives in State and Local Government Program from Harvard Kennedy School
of Government.
Mr. Jayne has been married to his high school sweetheart Lisa for 20 years.
Both were raised in Gilbert and moved to Show Low in 1999.
He enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and four children,
coaching and watching soccer games, a wrestling match, track meet,
trap & skeet shoot or hunting with his sons.
Jayne is a Credentialed ICMA member, member of the AZ City/County Management Association (ACMA)
and the National Association of County Administrators, an AZ Counties Insurance Pool Trustee,
serves on the AZ Town Hall Board, the City of Show Low Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee,
AZ Public Employees Health Pool Board, the United Way of Northern Arizona Board, served on the
Show Low Focus Future Team and completed the APS Community Partner Academy.
