Sunrise Park Resort Cancel's Fireworks Display

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Posted: Jun 28, 2013 By: Matt Weiss

White Mountains, Arizona —Due to the resent wildfire in Rock Creek Area and in recognition of the current weather conditions on the White Mountain Reservation, Sunrise Park Resort has chosen to cancel their annual fireworks display over Sunrise Lake on July 4th 2013. High winds, dry brush and low humidity have continued to pose a danger to the forest and wildlife area. Sunrise Park Resort recognizes the inherent danger these conditions create and are dedicated to the protection of the White Mountain Apache Reservation.

Although our July 4th event has been cancelled, we will still be holding our Annual Sunrise 3D Shoot-Out Friday July 5th, Saturday July 6th & Sunday July 7th. Lift rides will be available to all event participants as well as the general public. Smoking will be prohibited on the Sunrise Ski Area during the event and will be restricted to personal vehicles in the Sunrise Parking Lot.

We apologize to all those who had planned on attending our fireworks event and look forward to serving the public with an Independence Day Festival in 2014. For questions or comments please contact the Sunrise Event Department.

Thank You
