HOLBROOK, AZ – (February 24, 2014) --Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA), sponsors National
Children's Dental Health Month (NCDHM) to raise awareness about the importance of oral health with messages and materials
that have reached millions of people in communities across the country. Developing good habits at an early age and scheduling
regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. And, moms and dads need checkups, too.
If you or your family have not been to the dentist yet, use this opportunity to schedule a checkup for your good dental health.
Plus, take your kids if they haven't been yet. A great smile is priceless. That's why you should get an affordable checkup
and a cleaning at a local dentist participating in the National Association of Counties (NACo) dental program sponsored by Navajo County.
"The discount dental card is easy to use and will save people money," said Dr. Wade Kartchner, Health Director for
Navajo County Public Health Services. "Cardholders simply schedule an appointment with a participating dentist or specialist
and present their card to receive a discount at the time of service. There are no forms to complete and everyone in the household
is eligible to receive a discount."
With this discount card, residents of NACo-member counties will experience significant savings on dental cleanings, x-rays,
braces, dentures, crowns, root canals and more. Residents can purchase a very affordable membership for only a few dollars per
month or a very inexpensive annual membership for either individuals or families. The NACo Dental Program is not insurance.
"Especially during these tough times, NACo is pleased to provide this discount dental program to our member counties,"
said NACo President Linda Langston, Supervisor, Linn County, Iowa. "This program is the latest of many valuable offerings that
our association provides to our member counties."
The NACo Dental Program can complement some dental insurance plans or work in conjunction with health savings accounts,
flexible spending accounts and health reimbursement arrangements. It is also a cost-effective way for younger retirees to meet
their dental needs.
Additionally, the Affordable Care Act does not include adult dental care. Using the NACo dental program can help provide county
residents affordable access to participating dentists and great savings with their membership without worrying about how often they
can use it.
Now is the time to get your dental checkup with the NACo dental program. More information can be found through the county office,
