Back Tax Land Sales
Does the county have any back tax land for sale over the counter?
In the past we have had land for sale over the counter, however, for the past several
years we have sold everything at auction. We currently have no properties for sale.
When is the next auction?
The next auction will be held in October. An exact date will be released closer
to that time.
When will a list of properties be available?
A list of properties should be available in September.
Where can a list be obtained?
The list of the properties will be available on this website, over the counter in
our administration office, or in our county contract newspaper.
Do I have to be present at the auction or can I call in to bid?
You or your representative must be present at the auction.
How does the bidding work?
Bidding starts at the price listed and is sold to the highest bidder. No bids will
be accepted for less than the starting price.
How do I get a bid number?
Sign-in will be held one hour before the beginning of the auction. Registration
information includes your name, phone number and the information you will want on
the deed.
How do I pay for my purchases?
We accept cash, money orders or cashier’s checks.
How much time will I have to pay for my purchases?
We must receive payment within 24 hours following the sale.
Will I get a deed for my property?
Yes, Navajo County will issue a quit claim deed to you. You should receive your
deed within a couple of months after the sale.
Notice:
Navajo County makes no warranty regarding the properties. The properties are sold
as is. There may be problems with the properties. All sales
are final. No refunds will be issued.
