Navajo County Elections
Navajo County Election Services, under the direction of the Board of Supervisors,
administers, prepares, conducts and tallies Federal, State and County elections
in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes. In addition to conducting these elections,
many of the Special Districts within Navajo County utilize the services of this
department to conduct the elections required by the Arizona Revised Statutes. These
Special Districts include many of the cities and towns, school districts, fire districts,
water districts, etc. that are located in Navajo County.
In addition to conducting the elections, the department also provides voter registration
services (in conjunction with the County Recorder’s office), recruiting and training
of poll workers, issuing, accepting and maintaining candidate, initiative, referendum
and recall filings and campaign committee financial reports, and is responsible
for establishing election precinct boundaries.
The Election Services Department also provides Native American Outreach Services.
These Services include providing education regarding elections and voter registration
to the Native American residents of Navajo County, providing County support to Navajo
Nation Election Administration, Hopi Elections, Hopi Tribal Council and the Apache
Tribal Council.
