The Navajo County Open Burn Permits are for the unincorporated areas of Navajo County outside of a fire district. If you have any questions please contact the Navajo County Emergency Management at (928)524-4163 or your local fire department for verification.

  • Prior to burning any material, the Permittee shall call the Navajo County Sheriff Office Dispatch at (928) 524-4050 and the local Fire Department. Provide each entity with name, permit number, and physical address of burn location. You must call each time you are going to burn.  
  • By checking this box, I acknowledge and will observe all applicable Arizona, Navajo County and responding Fire Department laws and regulations. I also acknowledge that the Navajo County Board of Supervisors and the local Fire Department will not be responsible for any property damage, personal injury, or inconvenience incurred, directly or indirectly, as a result of the issuance and execution of this Burn Permit. The issuance of this Burn Permit does not release the attendant from any of the requirements of any other jurisdictional agency or any applicable and legally constituted agreements. This Burn Permit issued in accordance with Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, Open Burning Guidelines for Air Pollution Control (A.A.C. R18-2-602). Permittee shall observe all restrictions contained in Navajo County Ordinance No. 01-06 and A.R.S. ยง49-501.
