Student Intern Program

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a current resident of Navajo County and must be a student at a college, university, technical institute or community college.

In addition, each student applicant must:

  • Complete a Navajo County application for employment.
  • Attach a letter of interest indicating where you would like to work and why you should be selected as a Student Intern.
  • If you are a recent high school graduate, please attach a letter of acceptance, on formal letterhead, from the college, university, technical institute or community college that you will be attending.
  • If you are a current student or will be continuing in the next semester, attach proof of student status for the current or upcoming semester.
  • Attach copies of transcripts.
  • Submit your packet of information to Navajo County Human Resources.

After review and verification, your application will be referred to appropriate departments. Departments will contact students for interviews and will select their Student Interns.

Salary

H/S Graduates – College Freshmen $8.50/hr

Students in their second year and above will receive $10.25/hr

Work Hours

Will be determined by each Department Director/Elected Official but will not exceed the timeframe which would impact ASRS membership (state retirement).
