2010 Navajo County Spelling Bee

The 2010 Navajo County Spelling Bee will be held on February 19, 2010, at the Snowflake High School Auditorium in Snowflake, Arizona at 2:00 pm. Approximately 60 finalists from local spelling bees will compete for trophies/medallions and a chance to go to the state competition. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers.

2009 Navajo County Spelling Bee

2009’s champion is Krista Keeley, a 6th grade student from Blue Ridge USD #32. The runner-up is Breinielle Laurente, a 6th grade student from Whiteriver USD #20. Third Place went to Courtney Peterson, a 6th grade student from Blue Ridge USD #32.

Krista will advance to Tempe, AZ along with 26 other state finalists to determine who will represent Arizona in the National Spelling Bee held in Washington D. C., May 26-27, 2009. The sponsor of this year’s Arizona Spelling Bee is US Airways. With additional support from KAET Channel 8 and Safeway.
