Zoning Ordinance & Forms

The Planning and Development Services Division processes all applications pertaining to Zone Changes, Special Use Permits, and Special Developments. Each of these applications requires notice in the paper of local jurisdiction, posting of the property under consideration, and mail notice to all property owners in a 300-foot radius of the subject property. For the majority of cases, two public hearings are conducted, the first with the Planning and Zoning Commission and the second with the Board of Supervisors who make the final decision approving or denying the application. The Division also has copies of the Navajo County Zoning Ordinance, the General Plan, and specific area plans for a nominal fee as well as providing zoning information upon inquiry.
