Prosecuting crime is our primary function along with providing legal advice to the county’s elected officials and departments. However, we also provide a variety of other services to citizens, such as assistance with adoptions, bad check recovery, child support collection, and services to victims and witnesses.
If you are a resident of Navajo County, registered to vote, in possession of a valid driver’s license, or State of Arizona identification card, then you could be eligible for jury duty in Navajo County.
The Justice Courts handle civil lawsuits where the amount in dispute is $10,000 or less, landlord and tenant controversies, small claims cases and the full range of civil and criminal traffic offenses, including DUIs.
The Navajo County Probation Department works with courts to assess adequate needs and risk and target proper intervention for adult and juvenile offenders through their conviction and adjudication process.
