Program personnel are responsible for follow up on all Tuberculosis (TB) cases as well as contacts with a case. TB education is provided for the general public as well as TB skin test screening. Program staff also act as a resource to private medical providers for guidelines related to TB treatment and laws related to infectious diseases. Follow-up surveillance and TB clinics are utilized to detect and monitor TB.
PPD Skin testing for tuberculosis is offered by appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays at the Show Low office. A return visit to have the skin test read is required 48 to 72 hours after PPD is applied. There is a $10 fee per TB Skin Test.
