The three-fold mission of the public health emergency preparedness program is:
To provide for the surveillance of infectious disease processes, differentiate between the disease and infectious outbreaks of natural causes, and those of suspect or confirmed bioterrorist nature in Navajo County
To educate and train county public health staff, area health care professionals, and associated tribal healthcare counterparts. To provide timely information of public health concerns to the general public.
To develop and maintain county response capabilities to bioterrorist events in coordination with established county, tribal, and state emergency management systems.
