What is a Notice of Violation?
A written complaint, alleging a violation of the Zoning Ordinance or the Building and Safety Codes.
Code Compliance Officer is the Code Enforcement Officer or Building Inspector authorized to inspect property or to deliver Notices of Violation.
A notice of Administrative Hearing to be held before the Hearing Officer.
A Hearing Officer is appointed by the Board of Supervisors to adjudicate cases.
The owner, tenant, or party who controls a parcel is responsible for a parcel of property that is subject to a Notice of Violation.
A judgement is the written decision of the Hearing Officer.
Civil Penalties assessed by the Hearing Officer are imposed on the part issued the Notice of Violation.
If cited party fails to appear at the hearing, the Hearing Officer will find the owner in default and enter judgement.
Compliance is correcting a violation by meeting the applicable requirements of the Zoning Ordinance or Building and Safety Codes.
